Sala Baker is a New Zealand actor and stunt performer best known as the physical performer behind Sauron, the Dark Lord, in Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy, bringing the character’s imposing armoured presence to life in the trilogy’s opening battle sequence. Standing at an imposing height, Baker’s physicality made him a natural fit for the role, and his work on the production marked the beginning of a long career in stunt performance and action choreography.
Following his time in Middle-earth, Baker went on to build an extensive career as a stunt performer and stunt coordinator across major Hollywood productions, including work on The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions, as well as the Fast & Furious franchise and numerous other action films.
