Andy Secombe is a Welsh actor and voice artist best known for providing the voice of Watto, the shrewd junk dealer and slave owner who holds young Anakin Skywalker and his mother captive on Tatooine, in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace and Episode II – Attack of the Clones. Secombe’s distinctive vocal performance gave Watto much of his memorable personality, blending comic bluster with a genuinely unsettling willingness to trade in people as property, making the character one of the prequel trilogy’s more morally complicated supporting figures.
The son of legendary Goon Show comedian Harry Secombe, Andy built his own career across British stage, television, and voice work, including extensive audiobook narration in addition to his screen and voice acting credits.
